SafeTech are proud to announce that we have obtained the certification of Basic Safety Training Course (BST) from Global Wind Organization (GWO) – the most reputable organization and a non-profit body founded by leading wind turbine manufacturers and operators all over the world.
GWO Basic Safety Training (BST) Course shall enable participants to support and care for themselves and others working in the industry by possessing the knowledge and skills of first aid, working at heights, manual handling, fire awareness, sea survival and in case of an emergency, to be able to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate first aid to casualties.
Upon completion of the GWO BST, participants will possess an awareness of the hazards encountered when working within the wind industry and how to control and mitigate these hazards.
The GWO BST will also equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to appropriately respond in the event of an emergency and to increase their safety through proper use of personal protective equipment, emergency equipment and procedures.
The approved GWO BST provides participants with important skills, which include fire awareness, first aid, working at heights, and manual handling. To enable participants to work in the offshore environment, an additional GWO Sea Survival Module training shall be completed.
At SafeTech Training Centre, the realistic indoor facilities to emulate Turbine, Nacelle, Transition Piece Working Platform will replicate real-life scenarios and give you the best training experience.

- GWO accredited training reflects the risks their wind farm technicians face while at work.
- GWO Training Certification is valid and recognized globally.
- Employers accept the training of GWO-certified technicians, wherever they were trained.
- Delegate’s training records can be verified at any time through GWO database WINDA.
- Only training providers who are certified according to the GWO criteria are permitted to deliver the training.
- Annual audits to maintain the training standards.
It is a great pleasure for SafeTech Training Centre (SRE) to work within the GWO framework, to help to improve the alignment and quality of safety training standards.
With the outstanding rise of wind energy industry in Asia, our target is to provide GWO training by building an international wind power training center to make Vietnam to be the center of wind power development in Asia.
Global Wind Organisation is a non-profit body founded and owned by its members – all of whom are globally leading wind turbine manufacturers and owners/operators.
Its members strive for an injury free work environment in the wind turbine industry, setting common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures.
GWO published the first version of the Basic Safety Training (BST) standard in 2012 in response to the demand for a recognisable standard in the wind turbine industry. This was followed by the Basic Technical Training (BTT) Standard in 2017.
What are GWO training standards?
GWO training standards describe the requirements for training courses that are recommended by members of GWO. By complying with GWO standards and criteria, certified training providers are considered competent and proficient.
Any individual with a GWO certificate in the Wind Industry Database (WINDA) is considered competent and knowledgeable according to the learning objectives of that standard. GWO members accept the certificate as confirmation the individual possesses the required knowledge and competences as described in the standard.
